How to make a greeting card?

Assalamualaikum and hi everyone!
Red Craft is going to show you how to make a very simple greeting card, which is suitable for any occasion!
To make a greeting card, you are free to choose any size of the card you want to make by adjusting the length and height of the papers you are going to use.
This greeting card is suitable to be made for birthdays, new years, wedding anniversary, as a get well soon card, etc.
Now let's begin!

What you need:
1) A white, A4 paper
2) A designated A4 paper( which is suitable in making a card)
3) A black-coloured paper
4) Ruler
5) Pencil
6) A pair of scissors / Paper cutter

For the design, you need:
1) ***Coloured markers / Magic ink pens / water colour / Colour pencils
2) ***Coloured papers (any colour according to your drawing)
3) Glue

***These materials are optional. You can choose anything to decorate your card.

Steps in making a greeting card:

1) Measure your designated paper according to the measurement shown below.

2) Cut the paper according to the solid line. The dashed line is where you need to fold the paper into half.

3) Now , fold the paper according to the dashed line.

4) Put the paper that you've cut aside. Now, do the same for the white, A4 paper.
( the same measurement as the first paper)

5) You'll get something that looks like this. Notice that when the white paper is inserted in the designated paper, they fit each other nicely.

6) Now, take the designated paper and draw a 6x5 cm rectangle on the front page.

7) Open up the fold, lay the paper flat and cut the lines that are marked with red.

8) Open the left and right flaps and crease well.

9) Notice that we get a card with a window!

10) Take your black-coloured paper and cut a long strip for about less than 0.5cm width. These strips are for the window's borders.

11) Paste them around the window as shown below.

12) Now, cut a smaller width of black strip and paste two short strips at the edge of the flaps.

13) Put the paper aside. Sketch a rectangle on the white, A4 paper with the same measurement as the window that you have made earlier . You can draw and decorate your card in the rectangle.

14) Apply some glue around your drawing excluding the rectangle that you have sketched. (outside the green lines)

15) Stick it inside the designated paper. (behind the window)

16) You can see that you have a card with 4 blank pages.

17) There you go, a greeting card with a window! Now you can write your greetings on the card!

Useful tips:
1) You can also use beads, ribbons and others to decorate your window.
2) Here is another example of the greeting cards that I have made.

How to fold an origami : Piano

Assalamualaikum and hi everyone!
Red Craft today is going to show you how to fold a paper into an origami piano.
To make an origami, you need any type of paper, usually a thin one so that it can be folded more easily. We need a paper that is cut into a square, or you can just use origami paper, an A4 paper or a gift wrapper and you can simply cut them out according to your desired size.

What you need:
1) A 10x10cm paper/origami paper/gift wrapper
2) Pencil
3) Black marker pen
4) Glue
5) 1.0 black ball-point pen

Steps in making origami piano:

1) Take your paper and lay it flat.

2) Fold the paper so that the design is at the outside. Crease well.

3) Fold the paper into half and crease it well.

4) Now you can see the valley fold. Take the left and right flaps and fold them to the middle of the paper. (which is at the valley fold)

5) Open the left and right flap so that you can see two triangles that look like a house.

6) Take the lower flap under the triangles and fold it up.Make sure that you crease the flap well.

7)Fold half of the triangle on the left as well as the right one at the middle of the paper. Crease them well too.

8) Open the flaps and there you have a piano, but it's not complete yet.

9) On the horizontal flap, draw the keys of a piano using a pencil.

10) Open up the origami.

11) Colour the black keys of the piano using a black marker pen. Draw the line for every key of the piano with a 1.0 black ball-point pen.

12) Draw a sheet of paper with music notes like what you can see below.

13) Apply some glue behind the flaps that are drawn with piano keys on them.

14) Fold the flaps back to their original position and press them firmly

15) Now you have it, a piano!

Useful tips:
1) You might want to draw some accessories on the sheet of paper of your music notes. This is just an example of a modified one.

Uses of pom poms and How to make Ducks using pom poms

Assalamualaikum and hello everyone!
As I said before, Red Craft today is going to list down several things that you could do out of pom poms.
1) Key chains (if you entend out a long yarn when you tie the pom pom or you can simply tie a thread if you want)
2) Ornament for gifts (you could tie a thread to the pom pom and tie the pom pom as a ribbon on your gift wrapper)
3) Soft toys (you could glue the pom poms together to make a soft, animal toy according to suitable colours of your pom pom)
4) Others (ornament for doors, windows, etc)

How to make ducks/ducklings using pom poms

What you need:

1) Two yellow pom poms ( smaller and bigger pom pom)
If you haven't make any pom pom before, learn how to make it here.

2) Two beads-for eyes ( or you can use black buttons)
3) A piece of orange paper ( hard paper)
4) White or yellow thread and needle/ Glue
5) A pair of scissors
6) Pencil

Steps in making a duckling using pom pom:

1) Take a black bead and sew it on the smaller yellow pom pom.
You can also use a glue if you want.

2)Adjust its position so that another black bead can fit on the same pom pom, right next to each other.

3) Fold the orange paper at the edge. Take a pencil and draw a semicircle on the piece of orange paper. Cut the paper according to the drawing. Now you get the beak of the duckling.

4) Open the flap of the beak and sew it under the eyes. Sew it in the middle of the beak.

Now you have something that looks like this. You're done with the duckling's head!

5) Now, let's begin with the duckling's body.Fold the orange paper at the edge. Draw a heart shape on the piece of orange paper.

6) Cut the paper according to your drawing. Now, we have one of the duckling's legs. To make another leg, repeat step (5) and (6).

7) Open the flap of the heart-shaped orange paper and sew it on a larger yellow pom pom. It will look something like this. Do it again for another heart-shaper orange paper.

8) Now we're done with both parts. Place the smaller pom pom on the bigger pom pom and sew them together. You may begin this step by placing your needle into the larger pom pom at the bottom. Start sewing up and down until they are firmly sticked to each other.

There you go, a duckling made of pom poms!

Useful tips:
1) To get a bigger duck, use bigger pom poms for both parts.
2) You can use another long-lasting material for the beak and legs, for example an orange foami and a pipe cleaner respectively.

3) Besides using black beads, you can use those googly eyes. They're cuter!

Both pictures of the pipe cleaners and googly eyes are obtained from Yahoo.com.
