How to make a note book?

Assalamualaikum and hello readers.
Red Craft is going to show you how to make a very simple note book ever! Well, you just need a few sheets of plain, A4 paper and that's it!
Let's begin!

How to make a note book?

What you need:

1) 10 sheets of plain, A4 paper (the number of the paper needed is optional)
2) A pair of scissors
3) Ruler
4) Pencil
5) Decoration for the cover: Ribbons/Sticky notes/Buttons (Optional)

Steps in making a note book:

1) Fold each of your A4 paper into half. Crease well.

2) Now that we've 10 sheets of paper. Divide them into halves so we have two sets of paper with 5 sheets of paper each.

3) As you've folded them into half, insert each of the paper into one another. Repeat this step for the other set of the paper.

4) Now we're working on one set of paper. Put aside the other one.
Take your ruler and measure as shown. It can be more than 1 cm. :-). Repeat the step for the other side of the paper.

5) Open up the set of folded paper and cut the edge of the paper (follow the red line shown). Do the same for the other edge of the paper.

6) We're done with that set of paper. Now let's take another set of paper.
Take your ruler measure as shown. Do the same for the other edge of the paper.

7) Using a pair of scissors, cut the set of paper as shown.

8) When you open up the folded paper, you'll get something that looks like this. It would be better if the hole has a smaller width.

9) Take the first set of paper and fold it horizontally. Do not crease the paper. Slowly insert the set of the folded paper into the hole that we made at the second set of paper.

10) Try to open up the set of paper that we fold earlier slowly so that it fits perfectly in the second set of paper.

11) We're done! Now you have your handmade note book!

Don't forget to decorate the cover of your note book.:-)

Useful tips:

1) You might also love to use different colours of paper for your note book.
2) Smaller size of paper produces smaller size of a note book that can be slipped into your pocket easily.

How to make a pair of shoes?

Assalamualaikum and hello readers!
For this post, Red Craft is going to show how to make a pair of shoes using a cardboard and other simple materials. You can make any size that you want which can be determined on how big do you cut the cardboard. (you can even make a pair of shoes of your own size). I'm using an old, paper box which is quite thick but make sure that you use something that can be cut easily by a pair of scissors. To decorate your shoes, you are free to choose anything!

What you need:
1) A piece of cardboard/ old, thick box
2) A piece of black-coloured paper (or any colour that you want)
3) A piece of gift wrapper
4) A pair of scissors
5) Glue
6) Strong adhesive/ Cellophane tape
7) Pencil
8) Ruler

Steps in making a pair of shoes

1) Draw the shape of a shoe on your piece of cardboard.

2) Cut the cardboard according to your drawing and make another one which has exactly the same shape as the first one.(you can do this by placing the first one on the cardboard)

Now you have something that looks like this.

3) Take your gift wrapper and draw exactly the same size of shoes on it using your pencil. Cut them out.

4) Apply some glue on the gift wrappers and paste them on both of your cardboard.

5) Now, take the remaining piece of your cardboard and measure 0.5cm using a ruler. We are now making the straps of the shoes. You can do as many straps as you want.

6) Cut the cardboard and there you have, the straps for the shoes!

7) Take a piece of black-coloured paper and measure 0.5cm using a ruler. Cut the paper according to the lines you have made.

8) We are now going to stick the black paper on the straps of cardboard. You have to press and bent it a little bit, just to make it easier to be handled.

9) Apply some strong adhesive or use Cellophane tape to stick the straps of cardboard at the back the shoes. Now, you can create your own design of shoes by varying the position of the straps of the shoes.

Flip it over and you will get something that looks like this.

10) Take your black-coloured paper and draw exactly the same size of the shoes you have made earlier. We're now making the soles of the shoes. Cut them out.

11) Apply some glue on the soles and paste them at the back of your shoes.

There you go, a pair of shoes!

Useful tips:
1) You might also love to use colourful papers, beads, lace, ribbons and others to decorate the straps of your shoes.
2) These are other examples of shoes that I made.

How to make pom poms?

Assalamualaikum and hi everyone!
Today we're making pom poms using different colours of yarn :->

What you need:
1) Yarn (any colour)

2) Old box/shoe box/cardboard
3) A pair of scissors (a small, sharp one would be helpful)
4) Pencil

Steps in making pom poms
1) Draw two circles of any desired size on a piece of old box/shoe box/cardboard with the help of a pair of protactor or anything that is circle.

2) Draw a smaller circle in each of the two circles.
3) Cut the bigger circles followed by the smaller circles.

4) Now you have something that looks like two doughnuts. Place one cardboard on top of the other.

5) Cut quite a long length of yarn and insert the end of the cut yarn into the smaller circle. Make a small knot to ensure that the yarn will stay in that position.

6) Coil the yarn around the circle until the yarn fully covers the cardboard.

7) Repeat step (6) until the cardboard is fully coiled by the yarn. ( you may coil the cardboard more that two times but two is quite tedious enough :->)
You may also use different colours of yarn to make a pom pom.

8) Hold your cardboard firmly in the middle.
9) Use another hand to cut the yarn between the two cardboards. Hold them firmly!

10)Take a piece of new yarn and insert it between the cardboards.

11) Tie them tightly as many times as possible.

12) Take out the pom pom from the cardboards. (you may cut the cardboards to make this step easier)

13)Use your fingers to shape the pom pom until it looks round.

There you go, a pom pom!

Useful tips:
1) The size of the circles that you draw on your cardboards determine the size of your pom poms. ( The bigger the circle, the biggger would the pom pom be)
2) You may use three or more colours of the yarn to make your pom pom more attractive.
3) The uses of these pom poms will be discussed in the next post, insya-Allah.

Greetings
